Everett C. Babcock

Special Agent Everett Babcock began his law enforcement career in 1988, serving as a Patrol Officer, and later as an Investigator for the Sayre Police Department in Sayre Oklahoma. In 1992 Babcock took a position as a District Attorney’s Investigator assigned to the District 2 Drug Task Force in Oklahoma’s Second Judicial District, conducting narcotic investigations in the northwestern part of the state.

In 1995, Babcock moved to Missouri and began a career with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, serving as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Mounted Patrol Officer, Domestic Violence Detective and as a Homicide Detective. As a Sergeant with KCPD, Babcock served as a Patrol Sergeant, Generalist Squad Sergeant, and Homicide Unit Sergeant. As a Captain with KCPD, Babcock served as a Patrol Captain, a Property Crimes Unit Captain, and a Homicide Unit Captain.

While working in the Kansas City Missouri Police Department’s Homicide Unit as a detective and later as a sergeant, Babcock was also assigned to the Kansas City Area Metro Squad, a multi-agency response team which responds to assist other agencies in the Kansas City Metro area in both Missouri and Kansas with Homicide Investigations which occur in their jurisdictions.

Babcock retired as a captain from Kansas City Missouri P.D. in February of 2024 after 29 years of service. After just a couple of weeks of retirement Babcock returned to Oklahoma, taking his current position as a Special Agent working for the District Attorney’s Office in Oklahoma’s 22nd Judicial District where he is currently employed.

In addition to his law enforcement service, from 2012 to 2020, Babcock worked a part-time job as an instructor for the University of Central Missouri. Additionally, Babcock has taught law enforcement related classes for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, the Missouri Highway Patrol, and the International Homicide Investigator’s Association. Babcock is a licensed law enforcement instructor in Missouri and a certified instructor through Oklahoma’s Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.

Babcock holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri.

Since 2014, Babcock has worked part time as an Instructor for the Dolan Consulting Group, teaching classes on the topics of homicide investigations, training new detectives, investigative report writing, interviews and interrogations, patrol responses to crime scenes and the qualities of a great detective.

Babcock’s homicide investigations have been profiled on America’s Most Wanted, American Gangster, The First 48, Fatal Attraction and The Killer Next Door.
