On June 17, 2015, a gunman entered the Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Inside the church he opened fire on a Bible study, killing 9 members of the congregation. In order to better understand how these types of events take place, this webinar will examine the assailant’s background, motive, method of operation, and detail the steps of the assailant. The incident aftermath and response will also be discussed. This course is designed to better inform first-responders, SWAT personnel, security teams at places of worship, and disaster management leaders about how such events take place.
