Broken windows theory suggests that physical signs of urban decay increase feeling of fear among the public and contributes to crime and disorder within the neighborhood. Extensive social science research supports this theory, but does it apply to small town and rural jurisdictions as well? In this webinar we will examine how broken windows theory applies to less urban communities as well, with rural and small town examples. The webinar will conclude with recommendations for effective broken windows policing for rural and small-town agencies.
