Tragically, in the last few years we have seen a number of extreme violence incidents occur at places of worship. This webinar will examine incidents of serious violence – such as armed robberies, aggravated assaults, stabbings, shootings, and bombings – at places of worship. In the United States, more than 100 such incidents of serious violence have occurred at places of worship each year from 2000 through 2018. This webinar will explore the general characteristics of the assailants involved, and the nature and methods of the attacks. Several case study examples will also be provided to further illustrate these characteristics. Finally, some suggestions will be made for ways to reduce the impact of such attacks, and increase worshiper survival.
