How do you communicate your performance expectations to your patrol officers? The roles and responsibilities of patrol officers are so varied and complex that it is easy for officers to emphasize functions that are at odds with your agency’s culture or not priorities at this moment. It is important for officers to know what priorities are most important to the organization right now. This webinar will examine the existing research on communicating expectations to patrol officers. Using research from real law enforcement agencies, we will examine how often supervisors try to communicate expectations to officers in our profession. We will examine what patrol officers say are the best ways to communicate expectations to them. Finally, we will examine the research to determine the most effective methods to communicate what you expect.
