Dr. Eric PreddyDirector of Field Operations, Morrisville Police Department
Eric has served in local law enforcement for over 25 years. He holds specialized instructor certifications in firearms, subject-control and arrest techniques, physical fitness, and active threat response. Prior to his promotion to Captain, Eric supervised a team of reality-based trainers responsible for the development and delivery of experiential public-safety training programs.
These programs provided practical, hands-on experience to law enforcement personnel to better prepare them for the realities of their profession. Eric founded Regional Proving Grounds, LLC to provide these innovative programs to a broader audience of public-safety providers. Since founding Regional Proving Grounds, LLC, Eric worked extensively with numerous public and private organizations to enhance their critical incident response and critical incident management capabilities. Eric has focused much of this work on critical encounters, active threat response, critical incident management.
Eric completed his Master of Arts, in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University and his Doctorate degree in Occupational and Technical Studies (Business and Industry Training) at Old Dominion University. His research efforts have focused on cognitive readiness for violent police-public encounters. These efforts highlight specific competencies to be considered when training public-safety personnel for violent encounters.
