Surveys of pastors in the U.S. have revealed that more than 70% have experienced a recent vandalism to their place of worship, and almost half have experienced a break-in or break-in attempt. This webinar will discuss evidence-based measures that places of worship can employ to improve safety and reduce the occurrence of vandalism and break-ins. Using case study examples, this course will address security techniques such as the use of subconscious prompts for prosocial behavior, limiting offender access, increasing offender risks, and removing offender rewards. This course will also discuss the balance between security needs, and the need to be an open, welcoming place.
