The vast majority of citizen complaints, crimes, and other acts of misconduct committed by law enforcement officers can be attributed to a very small percentage of the personnel on any agency. This webinar will examine the existing research on problem-prone officers to seek answers to the following questions. What are the offending patterns of problem-prone officers like? Are there different types of problem-prone officers? What are ways to detect potential problem employees before they are hired? How should you build an early warning system to detect problem employees? What can be done when you discover you have a problem employee on your department? These questions will be answered with findings from sound social scientific research that has been conducted within law enforcement agencies.
